DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker Review. Read This Report Before Buying It.

It is a common belief that all the espresso machines are the same and the difference is just in the way how it’s presented but sadly that’s not the truth for there are indeed some real special espresso machines with exceptional features which are not found in other machines. The DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker is loaded with special features at a very affordable price.

This unit comes with two separate thermostats so it can control water and steam pressure separately to produce the perfect espresso or cappuccino at the right temperature for both.

The DeLonghi EC155′s exceptional dual-function filter takes in both ground espresso and E.S.E pods. By mixing air into the brewing process, this filter produces the perfect crema with a caramel color, which is key for having an authentic espresso.

It also features an adjustable swivel jet frother to produce a rich creamy froth for making excellent cappuccinos.

The 35-ounce water tank is removable, so it can be easily filled and cleaned at the sink.

This is a pump-driven machine with self-priming operation and among other cool features is the removable drip tray for easy cleaning, durable stainless-steel broiler an ON/OFF switch with an indicator light.

My husband and I tested out several espresso machines in the $100-$200 about a year ago (wish I could remember which ones! I know one was a Krups), picking out the ones with the best reviews. We were still so annoyed with the first two, which were also pump-driven. This machine was the third try, and now I’m pretty sure this is the ONLY worthwhile machine in this price range.

I also worked at a cafe and missed having the $10k machine to make free drinks, and this is an awesome substitute. I have friends who are huge coffee snobs say the lattes this thing makes are the best they’ve ever had. I agree, and I love being able to whip up a couple at a time. Unlike other cheap machines, this one will actually steam milk from refrigerator-cold to piping hot, no cheating with the microwave required. That is a huge deal to me, and definitely makes a difference in quality.
